Taking care of Business

Well it was quite a interesting week. I went to the Midwest Venture Capital Summit in Chicago to look for funding for our company. What an interesting group. A good many companies looking for funding and a good amount of venture capital companies examining the companies. My associate and I spoke with and gave presentations to several of the VCs. Some got our concept and expressed interest, and some looked at me as if I was out of my mind and had not a clue of what the virtual metaverse was. This was fun, the looks that I got were hysterical, virtual reality? whats that? said one ederly gentleman. The key note speaker who is a friend of a friend also did not have any idea of what web3D was, he said that so many new things are coming out that I dont know about and this is one of them. He gave $70,000 Dollars to one company as a grant although and I thought that was cool. The VCs that did show interest are still looking into our Business model but I really am starting to believe that we belong on the West Coast as the thinkers are more progressive than the Midwest, oh well the conservative Midwest bankers can stick to the conservative deals and not be part of the internet evolution. We march on. I am getting more excited about the Virtual Worlds Conference that my associates and I are going to April 3 and 4 we will take care of Business at that show as we will be all about monetizing the Virtual Worlds.

Working in a coal mine

I have been grinding along ,looking for more investment capital and business opportunities. All has been going well our company has really started to take off. We have Tommy in from Belgium he has really been quite an inspiration, he spends alot of time in world doing all the things that need tending to. Our staff really has been working hard to get everything ready for our up coming Virtual Worlds Conference April, 3rd and 4th in New York City, we very much believe that we will be a big hit and gain many new clients for our new product Slippcat. We are very excited about its introduction at the show.Advertising in the metaverse will never be the same again. We also have formed a strategic partnership with code 4 software, this has been a very important move for us and we think that we have saved much time and money doing it. My day starts at 5am and I trade electronic futures until about 8 or 9 am , then I start making cold calls for new clients as well as calls for investment capital,I do this until about 11am when I go to work out, I play racquetball until about 1pm and then hit the computer again to send out e mail to the contacts I made in the morning, this goes on until about 4 or 5 pm, after that I start to deal with the real work, caring for and driving my 4 children to various activities that they participate in, at 8pm I put the 2 small girls in bed and I hang out with the older ones and watch TV until 9 or 10pm that is when I fall asleep.

Keep on keeping on

As I have been in sales a long time I know that each rejection brings me closer to a positive response. That being said I deal with a lot of rejection. It is a numbers game that is played out over time. I have been selling our services here at Simuality for about 8 months, in that time a few very choice clients have been developed. If my average was 1 per month I would be very happy, as it is the clients that have been developed are very big and could count as more than several.I believe that if you are going fishing you may as well fish for the monster instead of the baby fish. We are going to New York city next month and I will be trolling for giant tuna. When we have landed a few giant tuna Simuality and Slippcat will take off like a rocket.

Let them eat cake

The Metaverse is very new,so people who use this new technology will have to adopt new ways of doing things. Slippcat our solution for advertising in the Metaverse is quite a new way of advertising.

Balls like a Brass Monkey

Some people go through life without ever taking any chances. I feel very sorry for these people because without risk there is no reward. The person who is handed everything without doing anything has no idea about how good it feels to earn their own way. The ones in life who take chances are the ones who are success full. No other way. I have seen people who never even take a lead off so to speak , never take there foot off first base, just be fed whatever comes there way without even ever taking a chance whole lifetimes. These are not my kind of people. I am a risk taker. My associates are risk takers. My good friend and partner Greg is the best example of this and that is why I work with him. He has Balls like a Brass monkey and that to me is the very most admirable quality in man. The whiskey will always taste much better for the guy who risks and wins.

All Hat No Cattle

In my position as a fund Raiser,/ investment relations manager/ Business developer, I tend to find many people who talk a good game. People tend to say one thing and do another. This is for sure not how I was taught to do Business. After more than 25 years of work experience on the Trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, I was taught that your word is your bond period nothing else end of story. If you say you are going to do something you do it. Unfortunately many, many people that I deal with almost on a daily basis have never even thought of this concept. They will tell you something and totally do the opposite. For me that is one of the things that makes daily life as a fund raiser/salesman extremely challenging. To say that I have been stroked, on a daily basis for many years is an understatement. Money makes people funny, all I ever need is a straight answer, yes I am interested and will invest, or want to do Business with you or, no thank you this is something that is not for me. To me as a salesman each no just gets me closer to a yes, it is a numbers game. In my humble opinion as a sales man a lot of people are really just trying to impress others and maybe even themselves. I myself have not really had that luxury since I have always enjoyed being the salesman not the prospect, but when I say I am doing something I stand by my word. The real thing is someone who puts his money where his mouth is. Way way, too many people are walking around with all hat and no cattle.

Peace,Love and Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality, Peace, and Love. In our world on this Planet we call earth to be happy and truly at peace, people need to connect with other people. That is the way , no other way, we have to be there for our brothers and sisters, those are everyone who can appreciate us. If another cannot appreciate you then don't waste your time. Connecting people is what virtual worlds do best, better than face book or any of the other static web based sites. Connecting people all over the globe in a very visceral way that a back and forth e mail or even an instant message cannot. The only real equation for peace, love, and happiness in my humble opinion is to be there for someone when they need you, even if that means personal sacrifice. Being there for someone is connecting, connecting is facilitated by Virtual worlds, so Virtual worlds are godly in that respect alone. A person who connects with another, and sacrifices for them, and is there at there time of need, is a person who is at peace and knows what love means. Can you dig it?
