Grinding along

I know that I have been slacking off on my Bloging lately,so today I thought I would try to get back into the swing of it. My life is very busy with 2 jobs and 4 children a big house and a wife who works. Simuality has been a great time in all of this. When we meet the person who is going to get behind us with some serious money it will be even better. We just moved into our new office today and it is nice enough. It is funny that it is located next to the YMCA where I spent quite a large portion of my youth. I come from a divorced family and every weekend I spent with my father who took me to the YMCA. We would play basketball and swim and I loved going there. Another coincidence is that a close friend of mine owns the space we are renting. I also spent a good deal of time with him on the weekends when I was older. We would party and loose brain cells together. So the old saying what goes around comes around really seems right for this space.

Good bye Lois

I have not had a post of late because we lost a very close family member, Lois my mother in law. Lois was a very interesting person to say the least. She was best known for her Adopt a Huskie program that she founded. She was herself alone responsible for rescuing over 1100 hundred dogs. She also was an obedience trainer who had the first and only grand champion Huskie. She went on dog races such as the yukon invitational , it was known to be way more intense than the ididarod which she also participated.I loved Lois for her energy and Spirit, she was a woman of great substance and we will always miss her.

Is anybody out there?

I am not sure if anyone reads my blog, but I continue to type. Today was a day like no other. I was Trading futures online and it was not pretty. I was losing quite a bit of cash and I dont like that. However I was able to get 98 percent of the money back by the end of the day. My other job in the virtual world has been going ok. We have sent out many proposals for work and are waiting to hear back from the prospects. We like most start ups, are hungry for Business and would like to start making the big money. We are going to an MIT technology conference tonight and we expect to make some nice network connections. I hope that someone is reading this so I am not just doing it for myself.

Belle of the Ball

Ok now that we have taken the tarp off our new product that is going to revolutionize the way people advertise in virtual worlds, How fast and how many companies are going to copy it? I am in the Business of predications and I right now predict that many companies and metaverse will try to copy Slippcat. We are the first by far and were very well received at the VW conference last week.It was great to see the kind of interest we got. We are here to stay and intend to be the front runner, that is just how it is. We actually were the only ones I saw at the conference that had a real solution on how to monetize this infant industry. The rest will try to copy us but will need to built the metrics and the product first.

Taking care of Business

Well it was quite a interesting week. I went to the Midwest Venture Capital Summit in Chicago to look for funding for our company. What an interesting group. A good many companies looking for funding and a good amount of venture capital companies examining the companies. My associate and I spoke with and gave presentations to several of the VCs. Some got our concept and expressed interest, and some looked at me as if I was out of my mind and had not a clue of what the virtual metaverse was. This was fun, the looks that I got were hysterical, virtual reality? whats that? said one ederly gentleman. The key note speaker who is a friend of a friend also did not have any idea of what web3D was, he said that so many new things are coming out that I dont know about and this is one of them. He gave $70,000 Dollars to one company as a grant although and I thought that was cool. The VCs that did show interest are still looking into our Business model but I really am starting to believe that we belong on the West Coast as the thinkers are more progressive than the Midwest, oh well the conservative Midwest bankers can stick to the conservative deals and not be part of the internet evolution. We march on. I am getting more excited about the Virtual Worlds Conference that my associates and I are going to April 3 and 4 we will take care of Business at that show as we will be all about monetizing the Virtual Worlds.

Working in a coal mine

I have been grinding along ,looking for more investment capital and business opportunities. All has been going well our company has really started to take off. We have Tommy in from Belgium he has really been quite an inspiration, he spends alot of time in world doing all the things that need tending to. Our staff really has been working hard to get everything ready for our up coming Virtual Worlds Conference April, 3rd and 4th in New York City, we very much believe that we will be a big hit and gain many new clients for our new product Slippcat. We are very excited about its introduction at the show.Advertising in the metaverse will never be the same again. We also have formed a strategic partnership with code 4 software, this has been a very important move for us and we think that we have saved much time and money doing it. My day starts at 5am and I trade electronic futures until about 8 or 9 am , then I start making cold calls for new clients as well as calls for investment capital,I do this until about 11am when I go to work out, I play racquetball until about 1pm and then hit the computer again to send out e mail to the contacts I made in the morning, this goes on until about 4 or 5 pm, after that I start to deal with the real work, caring for and driving my 4 children to various activities that they participate in, at 8pm I put the 2 small girls in bed and I hang out with the older ones and watch TV until 9 or 10pm that is when I fall asleep.

Keep on keeping on

As I have been in sales a long time I know that each rejection brings me closer to a positive response. That being said I deal with a lot of rejection. It is a numbers game that is played out over time. I have been selling our services here at Simuality for about 8 months, in that time a few very choice clients have been developed. If my average was 1 per month I would be very happy, as it is the clients that have been developed are very big and could count as more than several.I believe that if you are going fishing you may as well fish for the monster instead of the baby fish. We are going to New York city next month and I will be trolling for giant tuna. When we have landed a few giant tuna Simuality and Slippcat will take off like a rocket.

Let them eat cake

The Metaverse is very new,so people who use this new technology will have to adopt new ways of doing things. Slippcat our solution for advertising in the Metaverse is quite a new way of advertising.

Balls like a Brass Monkey

Some people go through life without ever taking any chances. I feel very sorry for these people because without risk there is no reward. The person who is handed everything without doing anything has no idea about how good it feels to earn their own way. The ones in life who take chances are the ones who are success full. No other way. I have seen people who never even take a lead off so to speak , never take there foot off first base, just be fed whatever comes there way without even ever taking a chance whole lifetimes. These are not my kind of people. I am a risk taker. My associates are risk takers. My good friend and partner Greg is the best example of this and that is why I work with him. He has Balls like a Brass monkey and that to me is the very most admirable quality in man. The whiskey will always taste much better for the guy who risks and wins.

All Hat No Cattle

In my position as a fund Raiser,/ investment relations manager/ Business developer, I tend to find many people who talk a good game. People tend to say one thing and do another. This is for sure not how I was taught to do Business. After more than 25 years of work experience on the Trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, I was taught that your word is your bond period nothing else end of story. If you say you are going to do something you do it. Unfortunately many, many people that I deal with almost on a daily basis have never even thought of this concept. They will tell you something and totally do the opposite. For me that is one of the things that makes daily life as a fund raiser/salesman extremely challenging. To say that I have been stroked, on a daily basis for many years is an understatement. Money makes people funny, all I ever need is a straight answer, yes I am interested and will invest, or want to do Business with you or, no thank you this is something that is not for me. To me as a salesman each no just gets me closer to a yes, it is a numbers game. In my humble opinion as a sales man a lot of people are really just trying to impress others and maybe even themselves. I myself have not really had that luxury since I have always enjoyed being the salesman not the prospect, but when I say I am doing something I stand by my word. The real thing is someone who puts his money where his mouth is. Way way, too many people are walking around with all hat and no cattle.

Peace,Love and Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality, Peace, and Love. In our world on this Planet we call earth to be happy and truly at peace, people need to connect with other people. That is the way , no other way, we have to be there for our brothers and sisters, those are everyone who can appreciate us. If another cannot appreciate you then don't waste your time. Connecting people is what virtual worlds do best, better than face book or any of the other static web based sites. Connecting people all over the globe in a very visceral way that a back and forth e mail or even an instant message cannot. The only real equation for peace, love, and happiness in my humble opinion is to be there for someone when they need you, even if that means personal sacrifice. Being there for someone is connecting, connecting is facilitated by Virtual worlds, so Virtual worlds are godly in that respect alone. A person who connects with another, and sacrifices for them, and is there at there time of need, is a person who is at peace and knows what love means. Can you dig it?

Start me up

Start me up, but be ready for action. I have been working at Simuality, and Avatrait for almost a year. I enjoy trying new things and new challenges. I like to see things grow from nothing into something. That is what we are doing, building a new type of Internet. We have strong ideas and strong people that work to make these ideas a reality. As a person in charge of investor relations for a start up Virtual Reality company this can be challenging, more so in the Mid West versus the West Coast, more so when the economy is sliding into recession, even so I love to have a challenge and have not been one to shy away from one. I will keep grinding to achieve my goal, that is what I do. When I first met my associates Antony and Greg I believed in them and their mission, it took me about 10 minutes to be committed to working with them on this dream, that commitment is still intact and going stronger than ever. This has now become a mission for me.

Baby Steps

The only way to get ahead in Business, from my experience is baby steps. There are no shortcuts, you have to first walk before you can run. My experience in anything that has been worthwhile has been baby steps first. Any thing else just wont work. People can have luck, but that does not mean that the person did not take many baby steps to get to that point of being lucky. We at Simuality are really pioneers of the new web. We are teaching people daily about the benefits of this new technology and its many applications. This process is complex and it takes a many hours of educating others. Once people are educated on the Virtual worlds, that is when we move forward as a company. This has taken many, many, baby steps and I assume it will take many, many more. It is a rare person who has insight into the future of advertising, the Internet, and art, that really gets our Business model without being educated first. So we take our baby steps, and we educate, and we move forward.

Believe and you Receive Doubt and go without

Without a strong conviction and belief in whatever endeavor a person may take on, in my opinion it is useless. If a person believes strong enough anything is achievable.
I am a person who has overcome many obstacles in my life. The reason I say this, is in Business you have ups and downs highs and lows, just the same as you do in real life. The people who can overcome these swings are the ones I believe are the most successful in life and Business. My associates and myself are ones who believe, and they believe strongly, in my opinion this eventually will translate into major success, in our Business endeavors, and in life in general. I believe, I will receive. This is what will separate Simuality from the others.

The Right Stuff

When anybody or any company hires Simuality for a web based 3D interactive web build, I assure them they are getting the best, but we also we prove it. Our team was put together by a very unusual equation, to me it almost seems like a miracle. Everyone who is a head of a department is a seasoned professional at what they do. If this was not the case I most likely would not have gotten involved. It really starts at the top and goes down from there, without strong insightful leadership nothing can function properly. I am very thank full that the leaders of Simuality are who they are, very special people. Appreciative is how I feel everyday, that I can work with such talented people. Perhaps I feel this way because I spent 23 years working on the floor of the futures Exchange, were everyone is just out to make a buck and does not care about much else. At Simuality my associates care, they take pride in what they do, and they have the highest set of standards possible. Together we not only go for the gusto, but we do it with style.

Passion, the only thing a person needs to be successful is passion, attitude, willpower and luck. I am lucky. I have been lucky enough to find things in my life to be passionate about. Simuality is my passion. I believe with the right attitude and will power we at Simuality can in fact change the world, and connect people in ways they previously could only dream about. As we embark upon this endeavor, that not only myself but my associates are undertaking, attitude and will power will see us threw. My position at Simuality has been Investor Relations, and today was a red letter day for us as we have attained an Investor, not an Investor just willing to take a shot with their extra cash, but an Investor who will also bring way more to the table. I have Raised Capital for many projects from Hotels in exotic locals, to apartment buildings across America, nursing homes, and children's video's, clients who are value added investors are by far the only kind I want to do business with going forward. Anyone can bring money to a deal, ( anyone who is willing to take a risk) as all deals have some degree of risk, but very few people can invest and bring value such as connections , friends who are willing to help other friends, people who are in the same Business who can help the cause. Simuality has been very fortunate to be associated with an Investor who not only understands this concept but wholeheartedly embraces it.

Biz

I have been in the sales business for at least 25 years and have sold everything from woman's fashions, to high pressure water cleaners, investments to futures, nothing has gotten me so excited as the meta verse. I truly believe in what we are doing at Simuality and how we can help Businesses apply themselves in the many meta verses. We at Simuality have the best team i have ever worked with hands down. The teams strength is we are a team and work for the common good, our clients. I feel like after 30 years in the working world that I have finally found my place. I have a family of 4 children and my wife and that is the most important thing to me. After Family the most important thing is friends , i believe that it is very important to be available for them when they need me. Our company will be going to New York in April and I am very excited to be part of that trip. I have been to the middle East,Europe,Central America,Canada, California, Mexico,Seattle,Vancouver,Las Vegas,Baja,Georgia,Florida,Ohio,Indiana,Virginia,England,Minnesota,Wisconsin,Michigan,Pittsburgh PA,New Jersey, St Martin, St Lucia, Cayman Island, Curacao,Anguilla, New Orleans,Tennessee, and many other places, but never the big Apple I intend to Slay the Apple in the best sense of that word. The Picture in this Post is of a beach that I helped make, ( dredge the floor of the sea) it is at a Hotel that I syndicated and it is in Curacao. My heart will always be in Curacao and the Hotel website is www.sunset waters.com . I named it that and it is truly paradise.
